10 ways to upgrade your bathroom on a budget

Let's be real, anyone who knows me by now knows I am frugal. I'm such a cheap-o but I love to share my frugal upgrades and DIY's with all of you. We all know that the bathroom and kitchen are two places that we dread upgrading, or maybe you rent and your hands are tied on how much you can do! Well, I'm here to save the day and give you ten easy ways to upgrade your bathroom the frugal mans way.

1. Spray-paint Your Faucets -

Spray paint is cheap and an easy fix for some ugly faucets, whether you want a brass look, silver, or black it's the perfect way to update your bathroom without spending a boat load on new faucets. If you rent, chances are your landlord will never notice and if they do, they'll only love it anyways!

2. Change Out The Light Fixtures -

Whether you find cheap brand new ones or make your own, a cheap and easy way to give that bathroom a face lift is changing the lighting! Heck, depending on your situation spray paint your light fixtures too! The right light fixtures can change any space in a snap! Check out an easy DIY light fixture here.

3. Vanity Knobs

Take your butt to Lowes or Home Depot and pick up some new knobs for your vanity, they're inexpensive and such an easy and quick switch! Remember, small differences make HUGE impacts!

4. Frame Your Mirror

If you have an ugly old mirror that has no frame and just looks blech, frame it. For a few bucks you can get some wood and build a frame for it. There are so many great ideas for framing mirrors out there, just check out Pinterest

5. Make Your Own Wallpaper

Just like I did with my washi tape wall in our dining nook you can do the same in the bathroom. For a few bucks you can get a couple rolls of the washi tape of your choice and go to town! It will come right off if you rent and want to move, or even if you decide you want to change things up!

6. Add Shelving

A few floating shelves or shelves of your choice and you're in business. Not only will it give you a place to store things and add accents but it'll look cute. What's better then functional and cute? Nothing! If you really are on a budget see what you have lying around the house that you can upcycle into shelving!

7. Find A Great Runner

Yep, you heard me right! A runner or a small round rug in your bathroom can give it a breath of fresh air that it needs. It'll add some contrast and character! Hit up your local thrift store or check out the deals that Rugs USA is always rocking!

8. Organize With Baskets

Whether you like wicker or metal, adding a couple baskets for storage gives your bathroom a nice little touch. You can never have enough storage or organization in life and especially in your bathroom so baskets are the perfect way to add some cuteness on the low low.

9. Paint or Use Removable Wallpaper

I know not all renters want to or can, but most landlords won't say anything if you paint back to the original color before you leave. But if you make it look good enough they probably won't care anyway. I recommend bright and airy neutrals, especially if you have a small bathroom with no natural light. It will help the bathroom to appear to be larger too! Don't want to paint, there are plenty of options for easy stick and peel wallpaper out there too that you can easily take off if and when need be!

10. Tile Tattoos and Removable Back Splash

Yep, you can get very cheaply removable back splash and tile tattoos! A tile tattoo is just a decal meant for tile floors that will come up when you're ready for it to come up whether you rent and your moving or you're just ready for a change.
